Saturday’s stableford event definitely struck a chord with Dave Evans who compiled a lovely 42pts to win C grade by four strokes over Adam Bachelor and Ray Curtis, the ever reliable Horst Hesse was the scratch winner with 18pts.
Adam Powell was once again on top of the A grade leaderboard courtesy of 38pts, Darrell Bourke (36) and Greg Burgess (35) rounded out the minor placings while the dependable Phil Campbell was the scratch victor on 30pts.
Pieter Buining found his groove to fire 42pts and claim a comfortable three shot margin in B grade over Peter Chaffey, visitor Daniel Viglione (38) snuck in for third and the scratch went to Bill Lambert with a solid 22pts.
Greenkeeper extraordinaire Adam Hodges was the premier golfer during last Thursday’s A grade event thanks largely to 39pts, Greg Burgess (38) and Jaise Delaney (37) rounded out the minors. The power hitting of Brett Howard (29) was rewarded with the scratch.
It was good to see Andy Kajons back in the winner’s circle after a bit of a layoff, his 38pts picked up the B grade chocolates from Phil Thompson and Mick Leseberg who both had 36pts. 21pts enabled Paul Rosconi to win the scratch.
Steve Glencorse and Ed Marel returned 46pts in the 2BBB to outlast Max Culkin & Noel Ross by one shot. Darrell Bourke and Darryn Bruce were the scratch champions on 36pts.
Kim Taylor enjoyed his Sunday sojourn to fire 36pts for a stroke margin over Andre Schuster and John Perfect.
