On the tee  23/2/18

Jim Schumacher has been in career best form in recent times and last Saturday was no exception as attested by his 44pts to win B grade from Rod Dixon and Wayne Wright who both had 39pts. Steve Johnson had a solid 24pts to win the scratch.

Cameron Jackson was at his brilliant best in firing 43pts to take the A grade crown, Andrew Wallace (41) and Jaise Delaney (39) rounded out the minor placings. Darren ‘gazelle’ Smith had a nice round of one over par to win the scratch.

Wally Dean was slow and steady in his approach to record a lovely 41pts to hold off Jeff Dean by one shot. Arthur Mulholland picked up third on 39pts while the scratch went o Martyn Salmon with 20pts.

Russ McCarthy was the man to catch in last Thursday’s  individual stableford event courtesy of 42pts to win A grade from the chasing pack of Matt ‘bulky’ Ryan and Glyn Daunt who both had 40pts, a fine even par round enabled Darrell Bourke to win the scratch.

A welcome return to the winner’s circle was just the tonic needed by Adrian Cox to post 41pts and the B grade spoils, Al Hammond and Ian Thomas both had 40pts to place on the podium. The dapper Phil Thompson fired 20pts to win the scratch.

Barry Mawhood was struggling to work out why he had sore shoulders during Thursday’s  2BBB, thankfully it didn’t stop him and Bob Cooper winning the day with 47pts! Jim Schumacher and Daunt were the runners-up on 46pts. Young gun Dylan Thompson and Ross Thompson registered a scintillating four under par to win the scratch.

Jan Ross left the lads in her wake on Sunday with a magic 44pts, well back down the straight were Ray Dreves (40) and Paul Brown (38), a great day for the ladies!
