Saturday’s individual stableford event proved to be the perfect playground for Martin Horder after a fine 42pts enabled him to win C grade from Andrew Ballard and Joe Heness (40), Neil Adams left with the scratch trophy after returning 20pts.

The long hitting James Chapple had a tough battle on his hands with Matthew Phillips for the A grade title after both had 39pts, in the end Chapple was triumphant on a countback. Ben Hobbs was only one shot back in third and the scratch went to Club Captain Darryn Bruce with 34pts.

Visitor Jon Manton showed a clean pair of heels to fire 42pts and a two stroke margin over Andrew Ballard and Peter Heness to win C grade, Peter Morgan was the scratch recipient.

Steve Dury definitely cleaned the carpet with the opposition, albeit on a countback from Chris Hadson after both players had 40pts, the suave Bob Cooper (39) was elegance personified while the scratch went to Zach Harding with 34pts.

A three way tie at the top of B grade tree was the scenario after Blake Arthur, Dave Tobin and Steve Finnerty all had 43pts, eventually Arthur was the winner on a countback. The reliable Ian Thomas was the scratch winner on 26pts.

Lawrie Price and John Cairns were the premiere 2BBB combination on a countback after accounting for Ian Wallace and Paul Cregan after both pairs had 48pts. Dylan Thompson and Zach Harding were the scratch victors with 40pts.

Beau Buttsworth fired a brilliant 43pts to walk away with the Sunday chocolates and leave James Grant (40) and Brad Brown (38) languishing down the straight.
