Club History

Bathurst Golf Club

Like many of the golf clubs in New South Wales, the Bathurst Golf Club is abundant with history and anecdotes associated with golf and the evolution of the sport. The book The History of the Bathurst Golf Club: Our first 100 years blends the rich history of Bathurst with golf itself.

Frank Farrugia takes the reader behind the scenes and not only gives them an interesting account of different aspects of club life but also an historical account of the early foundation members and pioneers. These include Doctors J Brooke Moore Snr and J Brooke Moore Jnr, Mr W Rankin, Mr J McPhillamy, and others. Events during World War II and antics of some of its more colourful members.

This is the first official record of the Bathurst Golf Club and copies are still available at the Club.
